Rite of Passage

Our son Nathan is thirteen and maturing into a fine young man.  One of the milestones he reached was last month when he went hunting ‘proper’ with dh Dan and our friend Mark.  Nathan came home buzzing from the trip – he was so energised and thrilled that he got a ton of responsibility and even got to pack out 160 lbs of moose on his back.

This page commemorates that time.  The journaling is in the pocket and reads,”I’m so thankful that we allowed Nathan to take a week off school to go hunting with Dan.  Yes, it impacted his grades but he gained so much in other ways,  The first step on a journey.  He left home a boy and returned a young man.  He really bonded with Dan and became a valued member of the team.  The transfer of values, skills and knowledge from father to son, along with increased responsibility really motivated and encouraged Nathan towards manhood and self discovery.”

I used several challenges to put this page together.

scraptastic club – recipe challenge – use two colors CS (grey/mustard), mist, emboss chipboard (swirl embossed with circles and inked), use teal, orange and brown, fall photo, rubons (1 step at a time), punch a border

C’est Magnifique: thankful challenge

The Paper Variety Challenge: thankful
