Week 2 at Swirlydoos

The challenge this week was do do loads of layers.  Simce I’m pretty much a clean and simple scrapper at heart I wanted to keep it modern but clean.  I actually managed to get 13 layersand still keep it clean looking.  I used the January sketch from Dusty Attic

Bizarre weather

For the last few days we’ve had 60 mph winds, warm temps (35-45) and lots of rain.  Today the schools are closed  –   So much rain with all the snow melt has caused flooding!!  We even have green grass.  Can you believe this is Alaska in January?  However, worse is to come – tonight the temps are meant to drop below freezing so all the water on the roads will turn to ice and everything will become a skating rink.  Looks like we may be home bound for a few days.  Scrapbooking here I come !

This past week I’ve been checking out the local fitness club; playing raquetball, doing group power, yoga and spin class.  In between I’ve been hobbling around trying to ease my aching muscles.

I’ve also been creating some cards for a Papercrafts Call so I may share those at the end of the week.

It’s 2013 !

Hope you all had a wonderful New Year.  Mine came in with a whimper and not a bang.  One New Year’s Eve I had a sore throat and flu.  I dosed myself with nyquil and went to bed.  I vaguely remember opening one eye at midnight when fireworks started going off outside our bedroom window (courtesy of neighbors lower down on the hillside), wishing Dan and Lauren a “Happy New Year” then went promptly back to sleep.  Fortunately the flu only last one day but it took all week for my throat to get better.  I spent the time lazing and even had some SBing tme.  Here are a few projects that I created this week

just a quirky design about our quirky cat Meow
