We almost got into trouble at the weekend when my friend Susie drifted out onto the lake and was then unable to start the jetski.. Fortunately a king neighbor floated out on the paddleboard and was able to assist. She and Lauren then spent an enjoyable evening jetting around.
This page was inspired by case file 212 at CSI – I loved the colors . My page is also inspired by a page at Paper Issues. I created a special star cut file – with a dashed outline and 3D raised stars in the middle.
The May challenge at Scrap Our Stash was a fun inspiration I was inspired by the summer theme and heart I tried to created the soft effect of the sunset in my inking. I have a flower sticker I also used a Cut Mania cutfile as a stencil for my hearts
We had a pretty mild winter in Alaska with very little snow Then two weeks ago we had 8 inches – record breaking for this time of year. The next day the temperatures went up to the low 40’s and we had sunshine, causing all the snow to start melting off. Since then we’ve had rain and 40 mph winds. Here’s hoping it’s really the beginning of Spring.
My favorite flowers are Spring flowers. Growing up in Ireland I loved to see first the snowdrops pushing through, then the crocuses and finally the glorious tulips and daffodils. They really lift my spirits. This page is about my fav flowers and is inspired by the challenges at Scrappy Friends
AND – I used one of the latest Spring cut file titles from Cut Mania
Rochelle’s This or That
I actually fond it very difficult not to use both. I ended up using chevron washi
Kelly’s Mood Board
I was inspired by the flowers, the white, green and yellow, the tape
The March Scrap Our Stash book challenge was very fun. I was inspired by the pinks and teals, the frame, the hearts, the title and the triangle banner. My gold is Dear Lizzy gold triangle washi on my banner
Loved the sketch at Scrap Our Stash – I actually rotated it 90 degrees.
from the list I have gold (sticker word by bottom photo),hot pink, Heidi Swapp and hearts, ink (I inked the frame and misted)
Thank goodness for youtube – need to know anything – a how to video is out there.
I found this cute photo of Lauren petting a goat at the state fairs’ petting zoo. Unfortunately there were a million other kids in the photo too I managed to edit the photo to just leave the two main stars.
This page was inspired by scrappy friends challenges
this or that – I used a polaroid frame
Brenda’s wonderful sketch– replacing the filmstrip with scattered hearts
Kelly’s mood board – I was inspired by the brown, white and pink and the love theme and the wood in the kissing booth
Taxes, college, renovating; not much time to scrap this week but I got this page done of our cat Meow in the snow. I created it for a challenge at Scrap Our Stash – Create a page inspired by the book The Cat in the Hat Comes Back
I was inspired by the black cat in the snow, the red stripes and the triangle of snow at the bottom
It’s also inspired by a sketch at Paper Issues and uses a snowflake cutfile from Paper Issues
And a color palette and sketch from CSI I kept hearing “Man, I love this life” by Locash Cowboys on the radio and it really lifted my spirits. So I decided to create a page about some of the things I love about Alaska.
Journaling is on back of tag and reads,”I love this Alaskan life. I love that God’s amazing artistry is evident every single day; the splendid sunrise and sunsets, the patterns of ice in the potholes. I love footprints in fresh snow. I love the lights that twinkle in the darkness. I love that the wilderness is right outside my door. Man, I love this life”
inspired by Emma Straface sketch
Well we’ve had snow, it melted, it snowed again, it melted again Yesterday we had snow – just an inch or so but everything is once again blanketed in white The consistency is such that it is staying on the trees in thick layers – so beautiful, with a pale pinkish-blue sky.
I finally got some pages scrapped. I’ve been hoarding this Simple Stories paper but I finally found some suitable photos and perfect sketch – from Scrap Our Stash
the stars across the bottom are metallic gold and silver but they didn’t photograph well
I used arrow (on sticker) from list , basic grey (striped paper) from list 2 and chipboard (stars) from list 3
Last week when we went to the zoo lights event the polar bear was just chilling – snoozing, rolling around and stretching – obviously feeling relaxed.
I based this page on the three challenges at Scrappy Friends
I used the diagonal: tags, winter theme and eyelets
and Kelly’s color challenge
I used black, pale blue, darker blue and kraft
