I am honored to be the November 1st guest designer at Stuck?! Sketches – Laura always has wonderful sketches Hope you can play along with us Here’s my take on the current sketch
Finally had a chance to play along with one of Kristine Davidson’s wonderful sketches As usual I had an idea , then it kind of spiraled (pun intended) into something different – hope you can still see some resemblance to the original sketch
I used a new Fall cut file from Cut Mania – Windswept and some older pics of Lauren playing in the leaves one windy Fall day.
Sometimes I just see a sketch and can immediately visualize how it’s going to transform into a page. I really wanted to go graphic and bold with this one.
Meow is my constant companion when I’m on the computer. When he gets tired of sleeping he stretches across the keyboard in search of some attention.
It’s a bit of a misty wet day here in Anchorage so I hope to do a bit of scrapping today. Here’s a page inspired by sketch #112 at Sketch n Scrap.
On our walk around the forest in Ireland with my dad we came upon a field of donkeys – 3 moms, 3 babies – the foals were so cute.
When we were in Ireland we went to Belfast to check out the Titanic exhibit – very interesting – especially to think of the working conditions for the men building the Titanic, the lack of safety precautions, no power tools (everything was done by hand), the long working hours and rare vacation time, the crowded conditions and noise – it’s amazing that it ever got built.
We spent some time on the dock side and Lauren and Emma had their photo taken with a “captain”. The September 1st sketch from Stuck Sketches?! was perfect, although I did rotate it just to be rebellious !!
Took a longer break than I thought . After a long hiatus to visit my family in Ireland (sans camera – it wouldn’t charge !!) we had visitors in Alaska and then I decided to start summer cleaning – repainting, staining the deck, refinishing furniture, redecorating, organising etc. The weather has mainly been great here so we’ve also been making an effort to get out and be active. Hiking, tennis and early mornings on the lake with Lauren paddle boarding and me kayaking – it’s so quiet and peaceful
Here’s a page I created using the latest sketch from Stuck?!!! Sketches
It’s been a gorgeous day here – sunny and 75 degrees – and yet – I’ve been scrapbooking! I got this really fun pic of Nathan whilst taking senior photos recently. Love the perspective. I paired it with a fun maze cut file from Cut Mania (coming soon !) and a printable phrase also Cut Mania
I hate to waste the scraps and I thought some of them looked a little like waves so I ombre watercolored them and used them on a beach page I used the May 1st sketch from Stuck? Sketches
Here’s a page I created for the Scrap Our Stash/ The Scrap Room challenge.. My mum is so adventurous – I think if she’d had the chance she’d have made a great pioneer. She’s been all over Alaska and many other countries and done so many cool things.
I used sketch#5 and a Cut Mania cut file
I used S ~Stickers, T ~ Tags, Tape, or Transparency, A ~ American Crafts and Arrow, S ~ Striped Print on tag, H ~ Hashtag (#), Hearts
We had a pretty mild winter in Alaska with very little snow Then two weeks ago we had 8 inches – record breaking for this time of year. The next day the temperatures went up to the low 40’s and we had sunshine, causing all the snow to start melting off. Since then we’ve had rain and 40 mph winds. Here’s hoping it’s really the beginning of Spring.
My favorite flowers are Spring flowers. Growing up in Ireland I loved to see first the snowdrops pushing through, then the crocuses and finally the glorious tulips and daffodils. They really lift my spirits. This page is about my fav flowers and is inspired by the challenges at Scrappy Friends
AND – I used one of the latest Spring cut file titles from Cut Mania
I actually fond it very difficult not to use both. I ended up using chevron washi
I was inspired by the flowers, the white, green and yellow, the tape
Sometimes I love to inject a little of my humour into my pages. And I love to do that with speech bubbles. This page is about our cat Meow who is always getting into things; photo bombing, chewing up my die cuts or ling on the keyboard and changing all the settings. I was taking photos of Lauren one day and Meow decided he wanted in on the action too.
I used a few of the upcoming phrases from Cut Mania too
The page was inspired by a sketch at Stuck?! Sketches
