We’re trying to squeeze in some outdoor activities before Fall comes – the signs are here – cooler temperatures, yellow leaves, fireweed is all bloomed out.
Yesterday I never made it into the kayak – the water was low – I was trying to drop the kayak into the lake from the deck and it got stuck – when I pulled it suddenly came loose and I fell into the muddy gunk at the edge of the lake. Lauren did, however, get in a little paddleboarding.
I used one of the latest cut files from Cut Mania – ripples. I inked with 3 Tim Holtz inks behind the cut outs.
When we were in Ireland we went to Belfast to check out the Titanic exhibit – very interesting – especially to think of the working conditions for the men building the Titanic, the lack of safety precautions, no power tools (everything was done by hand), the long working hours and rare vacation time, the crowded conditions and noise – it’s amazing that it ever got built.
We spent some time on the dock side and Lauren and Emma had their photo taken with a “captain”. The September 1st sketch from Stuck Sketches?! was perfect, although I did rotate it just to be rebellious !!
Seems like a lifetime ago that Nathan graduated high school. Now he has 2 part time jobs, is leaving for a leave month wilderness experience, then starting college in the New Year. He has definitely transformed from boy to man.
I created this page using a Cut Mania b/g file – I used lots of metallic and glittery papers.
Took a longer break than I thought . After a long hiatus to visit my family in Ireland (sans camera – it wouldn’t charge !!) we had visitors in Alaska and then I decided to start summer cleaning – repainting, staining the deck, refinishing furniture, redecorating, organising etc. The weather has mainly been great here so we’ve also been making an effort to get out and be active. Hiking, tennis and early mornings on the lake with Lauren paddle boarding and me kayaking – it’s so quiet and peaceful
Here’s a page I created using the latest sketch from Stuck?!!! Sketches
It’s been a gorgeous day here – sunny and 75 degrees – and yet – I’ve been scrapbooking! I got this really fun pic of Nathan whilst taking senior photos recently. Love the perspective. I paired it with a fun maze cut file from Cut Mania (coming soon !) and a printable phrase also Cut Mania
I hate to waste the scraps and I thought some of them looked a little like waves so I ombre watercolored them and used them on a beach page I used the May 1st sketch from Stuck? Sketches
Probably one of the biggest characteristics of moms is that of loving unconditionally They put everyone before themselves, they are so proud of their kids and grandkids and nieces and nephews, wanting the best for them They hurt when their kids hurt , encourage and pray for their kids. And even when their kids mess up and feel unlovable, moms find an extra reserve and keep on loving. I know my mum is a great example of a mum that keeps on giving no matter what. I love you mum
This page uses two of the latest Cut Mania files – the heart quote and the graphic flowers.
The May challenge at Scrap Our Stash was a fun inspiration I was inspired by the summer theme and heart I tried to created the soft effect of the sunset in my inking. I have a flower sticker I also used a Cut Mania cutfile as a stencil for my hearts
I created another page about Bean – she was very playful so I decided to reflect her personality in the page. The new funky grid from Cut Mania was perfect. I cut the grid, covered it in striped washi and added a ton of stickers, pics and embellies.
Here’s a page I created for the Scrap Our Stash/ The Scrap Room challenge.. My mum is so adventurous – I think if she’d had the chance she’d have made a great pioneer. She’s been all over Alaska and many other countries and done so many cool things.
I used sketch#5 and a Cut Mania cut file
I used S ~Stickers, T ~ Tags, Tape, or Transparency, A ~ American Crafts and Arrow, S ~ Striped Print on tag, H ~ Hashtag (#), Hearts
