Seems like a lifetime ago that Nathan graduated high school. Now he has 2 part time jobs, is leaving for a leave month wilderness experience, then starting college in the New Year. He has definitely transformed from boy to man.
I created this page using a Cut Mania b/g file – I used lots of metallic and glittery papers.
Cut Mania is a fledgling company, but I’ve been working hard to create some fun cut files.
I’d love it if you would check out my products and subscribe to the newsletter. To show my appreciation I am giving away this freebie cut file to all subscribers of the newsletter AND there is also an exclusive 20% discount code in the newsletter
It’s hard to think Spring in Alaska. It’s brief, snowy, dirty and there’s lots of puddles. The one great thing about it is our days are getting much longer again and we get a ton more daylight. I do, however, remember Spring growing up in Ireland – first the crocuses and snowdrops, then the tulips and daffodils. Spring flowers really are my favorite
The new Cut Mania release is Spring and Easter themed. I’m planning on adding 10 more cut files to my store on Sunday evening – just spending some time checking the formats first.
If you’d like to be kept informed of the latest files AND get an exclusive discount you can sign up for the Cut Mania Newsletter in the blog sidebar
Today I created some pages and a card using some of the new releases – I’ll be sharing more over the next few days.
This one suits our Alaskan Spring so well – the kids used to love jumping into the dirty puddles (they probably still would but won’t admit it!). Anyway, this cut file is made of two parts, the outer circle with words and the large splash..
I don’t know how I ever got along without Adobe Illustrator – I’m having so much fun learning how to use it and creating cool images. So much so that I’ve had no scrappy time. I just finished a striking geometric cut file that I can’t wait to share with you and create a page with. I’ve also been creating a lot more files for the April release.
You can check it all out in my etsy store .
I had my first etsy Cut Mania sales – thanks Melinda and I just wanted to share the amazing pages she created with some of the files. I love how she really made them her own and to suit her style and projects You can check out more of Melinda’s creations on her blog or at her etsy store Just1Life2Live
On this page she used two of the same cut file to great her won design – love how the colors pop against the text b/g
love how the heartbeat page turned out – especially with the fun rainbow colors AND the cool journaling on the lines
I had a page planned with this cut file also but my cat Meow found it on my desk and chewed it up – apparently he loves long stringy bits of paper !!
Since I’ve been creating cut files my style seems to have reverted back to my original graphic style. I find that with a large design feature I really don’t need to add as many embellies – although I still love to do that.
I hadn’t originally had this cut file in my store but I was inspired by a mood board and it fits into a March theme

There’s a bit of a story behind this. I’m from Ireland and I love the Celtic knot designs and really wanted to create one of my own. A week later I’ve finally finished and then realize that when it’s used as a cut file all the wonderful weaving that characterizes the Celtic knot disappears. Oops ! So, I’m offering a Celtic Knot inspired background cut file AND a print and cut Celtic knot background.

It’s so easy and quick to make cards using printables A plain or embossed background for a more graphic look or add a fun, colorful paper to make it pop . Here are two cards that I created using some of my new March printables from my etsy store Cut Mania

When I saw the March 1st sketch at Stuck Sketches I thought that the new cut file that I created for March for my etsy store – Cut Mania would work perfectly as the circle section I took a few liberties with the sketch – I turned it upside down so the title would be at the top and replaced the 3 pieces of paper with enamel dots.
We’ve been having record temperatures in Alaska (30-40’s) and we have very little snow – just lots of ice. It’s feeling like Spring isn’t far around the corner.
I don’t normally scrap with a lot of green but in celebration of St. Paddy’s day this month and the hope of Spring here’s a green-ish page.
I used one of the new March cut files and a print and cut from my etsy store Cutmania. I’d love it if you dropped by and checked out the new items
